On the path towards more sustainable logistics, at Calsina Carré we continue to commit to responsible practices that minimize the environmental impact, with the aim of contribute to the decarbonization of the sector of transportation and logistics. We were pioneers in the implementation of multimodal transport, with which in the last five years we have managed to reduce our CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by 20%. With this commitment, we work to minimize our carbon footprint and move towards achieving the zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

One of the key initiatives to move towards this goal is the integration of collaborative transportation into our logistics operation. In this sense, we have established a strategic collaboration with the global leader in consumer products and technologies Henkel and the expert in pallet pooling and supply chain solutions, CHEP. The objective of the joint project is eliminate empty kilometers, optimizing the route as much as possible and thus minimizing emissions.

Furthermore, the agreed route is carried out 100% with HVO fuel (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil). HVO is a renewable biofuel that offers a viable and effective alternative to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90% per journey, without compromising the performance or efficiency of the vehicle.

The project is already underway and its implementation has proven to be highly effective. The initiative represents, on the part of the three companies, a clear commitment to address the environmental challenges of the logistics sector, as well as an opportunity to join forces by sharing the same commitment and values around sustainable mobility.

In this context, Alba Carré, CEO of Calsina Carré, has highlighted that “at Calsina Carré we have the will and commitment to become the partner of our clients on the path towards decarbonization, advising them on the different solutions available, as well as jointly redefining logistics. “We firmly believe in collaboration to move towards a future of sustainable mobility and promote the use of clean alternative energies.”

In this line, Eugenio Vila, director of logistics purchasing at Henkel for Southern Europe, underlines that “at Henkel we have set the goal of reducing emissions of CO2 by 100 million tons together with our suppliers, customers and consumers by 2025, thus reducing carbon emissions throughout the entire value chain. “We believe in collaborative culture, like this project, to act together for the good of our present and future.”
