Au revoir SITL París 2025!

Calsina Carré took part in the recent edition of SITL Paris 2025 (Semaine de l’Innovation du Transport et de la Logistique), one of the leading meeting points for transport and logistics professionals in Europe. Our presence at this annual event is a valuable opportunity to strengthen our commitment to the French market, a key pillar of our international strategy.

France also plays a crucial role in our European intermodal operations. We currently carry out over 1,500 trips per month across France, many of them by rail. This commitment to intermodality — combining rail and road — allows us to reduce our carbon footprint, increase efficiency, and improve transit times to the main destinations across the continent.

Our activity in France is supported by an operational office in Paris, which provides us with local staff and on-site resources to respond swiftly and personally to the needs of the French market. This local presence is essential to ensuring a service that is close, reliable, and tailored to the specific characteristics of the logistics environment in the country.

Throughout the days of the fair, the Calsina Carré stand served as a meeting point for operators, potential clients, and partners interested in sustainable, flexible logistics solutions adapted to the demands of the French market. It also represented an opportunity to identify new prospects and strengthen relationships with our current clients. The strong interest in our routes and capabilities along the France–Europe corridor confirms the importance of continuing to invest in technology, infrastructure, and strategic partnerships within the country.

We thank all the visitors, collaborators, and professionals who joined us during this edition of SITL Paris — see you next year!

Calsina Carré Frit Ravich tractora eléctrica

We incorporate three electric vehicles

We have added three units of the 100% electric Renault Trucks E-TECH T and have made agreements to boost them in collaboration with Frit Ravich, the leader in the production and distribution of Snacking products, and Saint-Gobain, the leading manufacturer of lightweight and sustainable construction solutions. The consolidation of this project aligns with our strong sustainable vision, which continues to focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as well as technological innovation and energy efficiency in our operations.

With the implementation of these green routes, we significantly reduce our environmental impact per journey: the combined total of the three vehicles represents a reduction of 820 kg of CO₂ per day, equivalent to an annual saving of 205,700 kg of CO₂ in the atmosphere. This figure aligns with our decarbonization goals, as well as those of our partners, and responds to the demand for a reduced carbon footprint in the industry. The electric-powered tractors are ideal for domestic and medium-distance routes. In the case of Frit Ravich, the distribution will take place across Catalonia, particularly in the province of Barcelona, while for Saint-Gobain, the operation will connect its production centers, and deliveries will primarily take place in the province of Zaragoza.

In this context, Renault Trucks has been our partner for the electric project, with the Sustainable Last Mile initiative, using the RENAULT TRUCKS RT E-TECH T Electric model. This vehicle, with 490 kWh of power, operates 100% with green energy, with no NOX or particle emissions. Furthermore, it offers a smooth and silent driving experience, with optimized range and recyclable batteries.

Beyond the investment in three electric units, we also highlight the significant focus to maximize energy efficiency in our facilities : we have our own electric chargers and are self-sufficient thanks to the renewable energy generated entirely by our photovoltaic panels. This eliminates our reliance on external energy and facilitates operational optimization.

The incorporation of 100% electric vehicles adds to the set of sustainable solutions we offer as a transporter: rail transport with adapted vehicles, the use of renewable fuels such as HVO, and efficient double vehicles like the duotrainer. These solutions enable us to make significant progress in our transition towards more sustainable transport. With these initiatives, we continue to move forward in our goal to achieve NET ZERO by 2050.

Camión HVO de Calsina Carré

Why do we opt for the use of HVO?

The Ecological Way

As part of our firm commitment to sustainable environment, we have carried out many green initiatives to decarbonize the sector. We were pioneers in the implementation of intermodal transport; in the last five years we have managed to reduce our carbon footprint by 20%, saving an astonishing 41,898,563.63 kg of CO₂ emissions into the atmosphere.

With this determination, we are working to minimize our impact to achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, following the European Green Pact promoted by the European Commission.

HVO, the green diesel revolution:

-90% emissions per trip

One of the fundamental challenges at a global level in recent years and in the near future is the replacement of fossil fuels with renewable sources, especially those with low or zero carbon emissions, the so-called clean energies. Among renewable fuels, HVO or hydrotreated vegetable oil stands out..

At Calsina Carré we are committed to the use of this renewable fuel to make our land transport more efficient. HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) is produced from sustainable raw materials such as vegetable oils. Its use in transportation offers a viable and effective alternative to reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 90% per trip, without compromising the performance or efficiency of our vehicles. In fact, engines using HVO can achieve higher efficiency and suffer less wear, resulting in optimal performance and long life.

Together on the road to decarbonisation

In a world that increasingly demands clean and sustainable solutions, companies are looking to reduce their environmental impact and decarbonize the supply chain. The use of this renewable fuel on their routes is an opportunity to do so, and more and more corporations are backing this environmentally friendly transport method every day. We are delighted to be able to join forces with our clients to move towards more responsible practices and contribute to the development of a greener and more resilient economy.

Calsina Carré understands that every action counts on the road to a more sustainable future, and we will continue to increase our HVO network for the preservation of our environment and maximum efficiency in our logistics operations.

Calsina Carré Maghreb completes a year of growth

As we approach the end of this significant year, we would like to take a moment of reflection and share our evolution in the Maghreb market over the last 12 months

We close the year with a figure that pleases us: more than 17,500 crossings through the Gibraltar Strait, connecting Europe and the Maghreb. This milestone not only represents an increase in our activity, but also consolidates, one more year, our solid presence in North Africa.

Sustained growth and strong presence in North Africa

Since more than two decades, Calsina Carré has been forging a history in the Maghreb market. Our development in the region has not only been a business growth, but a partnership based on trust and collaboration with local communities. Our commitment to excellence and trustworthiness has been the driving force behind our continued growth in North Africa.

Calsina Carré Maghreb currently has a local team of more than 250 people distributed between two sites, Morocco and Tunisia, and operates its own fleet of more than 350 vehicles. This year 2023 we opened a new office in Algeciras as a strategic reinforcement point, for greater efficiency and control of our daily departures from its port to the African continent, specifically to Tangier.

Looking to the future: New logistic projects and sustainability

Our big commitment for the new year is the opening of a new logistics warehouse in Tangier, a significant step towards the strengthening and expansion of our operations in the region. We are in the process of full construction of this new logistics centre, which is going to have as its main objective the development and improvement of our operational capabilities, providing our customers an integral and optimised service.

This warehouse will be the epicentre of our operations in the region, designed to facilitate an efficient and coordinated goods flow. Tangier Automotive City strategic location positions it as a key point for cross-border trade and logistics.

Another major commitment for the present and future in North Africa is sustainability. In addition to reducing our emissions with each crossing, this year we have expanded our Moroccan fleet, adding Euro6 units and contributing in this way to a more environmental friendly transport. Furthermore, our challenge for 2024 involves the strategic expansion of our maritime routes, seeking sea highway routes for longer distances, in order to optimise logistical efficiency and minimise our environmental footprint. This approach reflects our commitment to sustainable transport and responds to the growing need for logistics solutions that balance efficiency with environmental responsibility.
